Almondco Lyrup, SA - Cracking Plant

Once the almonds have been harvested by our 150 + cooperative growers, the almonds are then transported to Almondco's cracking facilities (Lyrup, SA and Hanwood, NSW, to crack out the almonds. Here the almond pass through multiple processes. Foreign material picked up during the ground harvesting process is removed. The hull and shell (outside portion of the almond) is removed, leaving the kernel which is sorted and sized.
