Snack attacks increasingly common
A US study has found that snacking accounts for almost half of all eating occasions in their country. Consumer researchers, the Hartman Group, have found that snacking frequency has nearly doubled since 1977. The time between midnight and 4am is being labelled the “fourth dinner”. A handful of almonds is considered a healthy snack option. Small refillable snack tins are being distributed through GPs by the Almond Board of Australia to help promote using almonds as their snack of choice.
